Bernie's Girl - "Who am I? I'm Mo. A single mom of two, living in Madison, WI, where we really do drink too much beer and eat too much cheese. Currently, I am living my long-held dream of pursuing my business full-time and enjoying the freedom that brings.
I like the idea of not being wasteful, and I suppose that comes out in my work and my process. I try to find a use for every scrap of material I am currently using and maximize every second of my working time, since my energies have become more limited. I'm not much of a pattern-cutting, careful sort...I like to let it take its own form and I just help it along."
Papermichelle - "With the end of the Ice Age, the glaciers moved away to reveal the magical plot of land we call Wisconsin. Somewhere in the cabbage fields and deciduous woodlands, I developed an obsession with seafoam green, a need for all seasons and a deep-rooted love of all creatures clad in fur. My cards are a reflection of the strange and humorous experiences I've had in the Great Lakes Basin.
Every card is designed, cut, glued and screen printed by hand on my living room floor. (I use scissors, not die cuts...on every card.) Before being paired up with a snug and colorful envelope, I infuse them with some Packers love and artificial cheese flavoring. Finally, I send them off to you to distribute the good times to good friends. Cheers!"
Fashion Ninja - "The Fashion Ninja School of Sewing and Design was founded by Areka Ikeler in 2003. Since the school has grown into a supportive sewing and design community for anyone interested in learning more about Fashion Design. Ikeler's passion is sharing what she knows with others. Most recently she launched a 120 hour Apprenticeship program to help individuals gain better skills in sewing. When Ikeler is not working with others through her school she is focused on her collection and launching her new design work. Currently her collection is sold only at FASHION NINJA located at 315 N. Plankinton Ave. Milwaukee, WI."
ERKA - "Hi! I'm Emily of Emily Kircher Recycling Artist (EKRA). I see so many unused, unwanted, and unloved materials in the world headed for a trash heap. I take a tiny portion of it and make new and useful items from it. All of my work is made with as close to 100% recycled materials as possible.
Read about my love affair with trash on my blog: www.etchouse.com/ekra. I'm currently using salvaged fabric, glass, bottlecaps, and books, but I'm always looking for a new way to use new garbage."

Rubbish Remade - "Hello! My name is Jess Poisl and I'm located in the mighty Midwest city of Milwaukee, WI. During the day I’m a graphic designer, and by night, and the occasional weekend, I like to take time to create things by hand. I earned a degree in Graphic Communications from UW Oshkosh in 2006. During my time there I was also exposed to a wide array of general art courses: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, screen printing, etc. I’ve always liked the balance of design and art in my life. Having been away from the structure of education I felt I needed to keep that balance, rubbishREMADE is my attempt at doing so. There is something inherently satisfying about making things.
Still paying off student loans and trying to save money I decided I could make some really cool gifts for people instead of having to buy them. I also found myself growing more and more concerned with where our stuff comes from. That’s how I decided to take old materials and make them anew. With the encouragement of some really spectacular people I find myself here, ready to see if others can enjoy these things I make."
